I'd like to substitute all these spices for plain curry powder...any idea what that measurement conversion would be?
---Reply posted by DJ on 1/7/2015
Hi Karen, I think you could use a tbsp. I personally like a strong flavor, so ... maybe start with 2 tsp, taste it and add more if you feel it needs a strong flavor. I hope this helps!
Hi Sarah. Cool blog! Thanks for sharing it with me! Also, thanks for the kind words about my spicy cakes! What was your adaptation? I assume you added flour, or some kind of binder? Just curious ... thanks for checking in! :) Love your light box idea! ;)

It's funny that you should say that. I had on my short list "Hoecakes", which are precisely that! I simply ran out of time and was unable to make them. However, if you were to omit most of the spices and fry these in bacon fat, they would DEFINITELY fit the bill! Until I get a hoecakes recipe out there, this could be a suitable replacement! Dang! I wish I'd had more time!

These look and sound scrummy. I'm wondering how they would go as a breakfast dish with crispy bacon and some kind of tomato based sauce. Cauliflower fritters instead of corn fritters. Yummm!
