Blueberry-Vanilla-Yogurt Protein Shake

Protein shakes often feel like “Dessert … for Lunch!” to me. Or … for Breakfast, but … I digress.

I love these things. Almost too much, frankly! These really hit the spot, but I confess to feeling like they cause me cravings. I’m not sure why, and I tend to blame the yogurt, but … they’re quick, filling and extremely delicious. Just go into it knowing that it may cause some cravings that you’ll need to will yourselves through.

  1. Thanks, Frank. I agree … the cream helps thicken it up and … well … makes it more creamy! Maybe something like coconut milk could work, though … or MimicCreme, but with the yoghurt and whey protein … might as well just use cream. Thanks for the input, Frank!

  2. Do you guys ever sell these books in a discount bundle? I bought what I thought was a bundle of low carbing among friends but ended up with splended low carbing. A link at the bottom of your order form on the web site. My fault for not looking closer but I think that link should be removed or make it obvious to the buyer its not low carbing among friends but jenifer. So anyway is there a bundle of low carbing amongst friends?

Hi Steve, unfortunately, I do not know the answer to this question. I am not the publisher and am unclear how the books are sold. I suggest asking on the LCAF’s Facebook page or the website. There is a “Contact us” button on their website. You could send an email to learn more. I am sorry you didn’t get what you were looking for! Hopefully they’ll understand and be willing to trade. Good luck with it!

  3. I have two questions about this if you have the time.

First, what kind of yogurt do you get that has 5g of carbs per half cup?  I just got back from a middle eastern market where I purchased a full fat, plan Greek yogurt and it has 22g or carbs/cup. That is almost twice as  much as what you have listed.

My second question this, is there a substitute for the vanilla whey you have listed?

    Thank you.

  4. I tried this tonight but instead of using the protein powder I added an avocado and some almond extract. It was good but waaaaaay to salty. Not sure if I measured it properly. I even added more yogurt, cream and ice but still was not good. I will try it again tomorrow with no salt at all.  I could tell that if it was not so salty it would have been very good.
